What is a ManHealth Champion?
ManHealth Champions are people/colleagues in your community, organisation or workplace who care passionately about improving the health outcomes of our men. The ManHealth Champions workshop is available to any man or woman in your organisation who is keen to improve health outcomes for their male colleagues.
The workshop will equip participants to understand major health issues confronting our men. This workshop will the give the delegates the skills to promote and plan health initiatives and campaigns in the workplace.
The workshop is informative, participative and interactive. It takes place over a half day and provides an accredited level 2 qualification.
It can be delivered in your workplace or via Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
Whom is the course for?
Staff who want to support men to engage with their health.
What are the outcomes?
You will learn:
Can anyone be a ManHealth Champion?
ManHealth Champions are empathetic, good listeners, willing to talk about health and other difficult issues and to be supportive without being directive. You do not need to be a health expert.
Do ManHealth Champions make a difference for men?
The research suggests they can make a real difference. For men, they can be particularly useful: their more informal, man-to-man approach can provide an invaluable stepping-stone between the men in their community and traditional, more formal health services.

This one-hour presentation is aimed at male staff in your business to enable them to better understand the top 5 preventable killers of men in the UK.
In England, around 1 in 8 men have a common mental health problem. However, men may be reluctant to seek support for their mental health or disclose mental health problems to loved ones. While many of the same difficulties are experienced by both men and women, some difficulties and influences on mental health may be especially relevant for men.
